Train Museum

We went to the Train Museum in Noblesville today.  We were going to go on Evan's birthday, but that coincides with Father's Day this year, and it's supposed to be busier because there's a car show in town.  We went, it was hot (note the pink cheeks), and we had fun.  We got to ride a caboose for about 20 minutes.  Evan was over it near the end (motion sickness maybe?), but we went out for ice cream at Alexander's which made it all better.  :)

Brownies

While I was on the computer after work  (for about 5 minutes), Evan quietly scooted himself up to the range and found the brownies I had baked for school today.  When I walked in the room, he said, "Mommy, brownies are dee-wish-us (delicious)."  I had to laugh and take a picture - it was too cute to scold.

Potty Training - Boot Camp

We gave potty training the third try about 10 days ago.  A friend of mine at work gave me a book that worked with his son, so we decided to give it our best shot.  What do you know?  We now have a kid that goes potty!  Here are some pictures of Evan wearing his underpants (they make boxer/briefs for toddlers) and receiving prizes after he filled his sticker charts.  He actually just earned his trophy today because he stayed dry all day yesterday at home and all day today at the sitter's.  (The one picture of Evan in the doorway is water from the dishes on his underpants - not an accident.)

Evan's First Race

Anyone that's ever seen Evan in action knows that he LOVES to run.  Alea (by BFF) and I did a 5K yesterday at our alma mater (IPFW).  We signed Evan up for the 100 meter dash.    Alea gave him a pep talk, and off he went.  Take a look at the close-up picture of him - it looks like he's floating!   He even got his first ribbon.  It says "Participant" - how exciting!

Mail Slots

Evan has discovered the joy of the mail slot.  The problem is - we don't have one.  Evan shoves paper through the holes in our recycle box - no big deal.  Evan puts junk mail in between the books in the bookshelves - no big deal.  Evan put poker chips in the slots of our portable fan that is unplugged in our bedroom while I was doing my make up last week - ok, that's fixable.  Evan dropped a coloring book in between the booth and the wall at a restaurant - well, that's the end of that book - they'll find it when they remodel in 10 years.  Last night, Evan found a slot to put a puzzle piece.  The little vents at the top of our oven received the letter "S."  Mike and I were standing right there talking and he pointed it out.  He knows he is not allowed to open the oven which he didn't.  It's stuck in the door now.  I can't use the oven until Mike unscrews the inside and gets the letter out.  I'm hoping he is ingenious like this in life....

Randoms

Here is a picture of Evan's tractor that got an ice cream car wash - you turn your back for 2 minutes....
Evan is a strawberry maniac.  I had to cut him off.Evan with his baby doll named "Please Sleep."Evan at Elmo.  He enjoyed about 15 minutes of it.Evan likes guacamole.  Weird.

Currahee Mountain

A couple of weekends ago, Mike and his brother, Robb, went down to Georgia and ran a hill.  It sounds kind of weird unless you know what hill they ran.  The went to Toccoa, Georgia, and ran the hill that the 101st Airborne from the Band of Brothers trained on.  They had a good time, and Mike ran 3 miles up and 3 miles down in 54 minutes.
