At the Play Park

In between naps, we went to the quiet park near our house today. Evan went on the swings and down the slides. He even met a friendly, retired therapy doggie to pet. :-)

So we're climbing stuff now...

Evan climbed over the upside down laundry basket to get his bottle on the other side....

Evan is standing on our fire-proof box to look out the window and to mess with the stuff on the bookshelves....

Who knew?

Who knew all we had to do to make Evan stand still for 5 minutes was to have Mike go outside and mow? Evan watched Mike mow this afternoon and it was nice; I actually got some stuff done inside because he wouldn't move from the window.

The only cabinet that's not locked...

...is the plastics and lids cabinet. Evan found his way INTO the cabinet before school the other day while we were packing our lunches. Tell me that's not a Mike Connors look right there....

Dad's birthday cake was good.

I've got the keys...

...let's roll! Auntie and Travis have donated some of their useless keys to Evan's keychain. Now he doesn't want mine - thank goodness.

Hat

The picture below is from my phone. Unfortunately, I can't get it bigger. :-( It's of Evan at a restaurant called Jim Dandy. We went there for breakfast after church this morning. The cook came out and gave Evan a paper hat aftr we told him he loved hats. Evan finished breakfast with it on and a few of the people in the kitchen peeked out to say hi and see him in the hat. He's somewhat of a charmer with those blue eyes and bright smile.

Busy, busy, busy

Evan was ready for the Cubbies on TV tonight; too bad his bedtime was before the first pitch.

Evan had one of his last kitchen sink tubby times tonight; he's getting to be too big.
I like the look of, "Save me Mom," when Mike was putting jammies on E. We have to throw a leg over him these days because he hates putting on clothes (like most little boys). :-)

Who Needs Toys...

...when you can play in the kitchen!

Playing with the Grandparents

Dad and Evan played, "Let's Wear Hats," together and had fun.

Evan was pretty sick on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, so he was all about being held on Saturday morning. My mom held him, and then she kissed him and got her lipstick on his llittle face (that's what she's wiping off). It's just not as cool when the lipstick print is from a family member; sorry buddy.

Too Many Puppies?

So, maybe Evan has been hanging out with too many puppies lately. We were playing with one of my socks and I held it out to Evan. He took it from me, with his teeth. Here's a picture from a similar time. No wonder we don't have dogs; they're bad influences. ;-)

Evan's Fake Cry

It's pretty funny how he tries to make it work for him....

Look at all of those teeth!

Evan has 8 teeth now; you can see a few and then you can't. :-)

Evan at 9 Months

Evan turned 9 months old on March 20th. I decided not to go to a photographer for it; he won't smile for them anyway. :-)
He can do lots of stuff now. He can feed himself (not yet with utensils), pull himself up, walk around along the furniture (they call that cruising), say, "Dah, dah, dah," and "Mah, mah, mah," when he's looking at each of us. He's been crawling for a while now, but he's gotten really fast. He forgets he can't quite walk yet though. He falls down and hurts himself because he'll let go of whatever he was holding on to. He'll be a walker soon though...hopefully without stitches. We had a few nice welts on Easter morning (no pictures of that).
