I need a tow!
This car was given to Mike when Evan was about 2 months old, but the back wheels were broken. We came upon another car (the purple and pink one from a few blog posts) and switched the wheels out. The new wheels fell off and now they need to be fixed. Evan rediscovered his car yesterday (it's been sitting in our den for a while), and has been pushing it around. We've been calling it his hoopty. Notice in the video above that he says the word, "hoopty," too.

Corndog Day
Evan and our buddy Todd hung out and watched basketball on National Corndog Day.
Corndog day is "...[T]he happiest day of basketball and meats on sticks that you'll ever have. National Corndog Day coincides with the Saturday of the final 32 teams in NCAA basketball tournament....This Saturday is the only day all year that one can watch a quadruple-header of college basketball games (that’s a good 7-8 hours of college hoops) from start to finish without having to change the channel."

El Rodeo
We went out for Mexican on Sunday night and I ordered 3 soft tacos with beans and rice. We also had chips and salsa while we waited. Evan insisted (ie. yelled loudly) until he could get his own salsa bowl. Once the food came, I gave him 1 of my tacos and half of my beans and rice. He ate all but a few bites of the tortilla. The child has a hollow leg some days.
My Potty Rules
Evan hangs out on his potty every now and then. We've made it part of the furniture in the house so it won't be so weird when it's time to go on the potty consistently in the next year or so. His potty plays music when anything (like pee) hits the basin - it reminds you of the Imperial Margarine commercials from years ago....

Laundry Boy
Miss Melba (Evan's favorite person in the world) can attest that Evan is quite the helper. He follows Mr. Tom around in the mornings after we drop him off for the day. After Mr. Tom goes to work, he follows Miss Melba around and helps her sweep, dust, and do laundry. He took it upon himself to throw the slip cover he peed on in the washer while I was throwing something in the dryer. He knows exactly what buttons to push (in order).

Dag-gone Houdini.
So Evan has been escaping from the Pak 'n Play at Miss Melba's house for the past few days and wreaking havoc on her bedroom during naptime. We put him to bed tonight and a few minutes later we both heard him on the stairs thinking the other one went and got him. Nope. There's Houdini himself, with the gate closed behind him, walking (not crawling) down the stairs. We "toddler-proofed" his room and now it's time for a big boy bed.
Here are a couple of pictures of the child boosting himself up on his dresser so he can play with his noise machine.
