It was only a matter of time...

...before Evan farted and laughed about it. He's half Smith and all boy; he tooted at the dinner table yesterday and then giggled and proceeded to recreate the noise with his mouth. He already laughs when he watches Alvin and the Chipmunks when Alvin farts in Dave's face. My dad, who imparts the knowledge that farting is funny to all, is so proud. He may have even shed a tear when he heard the news.

It's a Tubby Night.

When Evan has tubby night (every other night or so), we go all out for dinner. The best part about it the mess? It rinses right off. Check out Evan's love of the dip - apparently it has extended to marinara sauce now....

Valentine's Day Gift

Evan is sporting the gift he purchased with his Valentine's Day presents. Papa and Mimi sent him $10., and Cousin Sammy sent him a giftcard to Target - it was enough to buy a new Cubbies baseball cap just in time for spring training.

Hooray for Cousins!

Cousins are awesome - they're like siblings, but you like them growing up. Evan was hangin' out with his cousin today. They were holding Cookie Monster and Elmo and watching Elmo's World. They're BFF (Best Friends Forever).

Well, Evan likes the Snuggie.

I bought a Snuggie (from As Seen on TV fame) last weekend at Bed, Bath & Beyond. Mike told me it was a waste of money (I used a coupon) because all it is is a long backward robe. I took a picture of Evan utilizing the Snuggie after tubby time the other day. He could hold the remote and still be warm (just like on TV)!

The Paci Stash

So Evan is a problem solver. When Miss Melba took his paci because he didn't need it (we only use it for night-night, some car rides, and seriously grumpy moods), he threw a fit and then got over it. She noticed he had a new paci in his mouth. Evan has kept a stash of pacis in one of the bedrooms at Miss Melba's house. When someone would take his away, he'd wait, go get one from his stash and all was well.

The pictures are from his collection at home. We are saying bye-bye paci when we turn 2 this summer. I hope he savors them. ;-)

Pete and Repeat

I'm Pete. Evan is a somewhat reluctant Repeat.

Pees and Peas

Evan has a potty/step-stool that we bought 4 or 5 weeks ago. We talk about it and stand on it when we wash our hands. My mom and dad came to visit on Saturday and we were showing Pa-pa the new potty. Evan's diaper was dry, so before we put on a new one, we showed Pa-pa how we sit on the potty sometimes. (Our goal is to start real potty training in about a year; we figured it can't hurt to talk about it now though.) Evan sat on the potty and actually went #1. It was exciting (especially since the potty plays music when the basin gets wet).

Evan was eating peas with his spoon and fork today. He places the peas on his utensil, then eats them. Cute.

Evan loves the tub.

He loves it so much when I said it was tubby time the other day, he climbed all by himself fully clothed.

Evan's pad

Evan loves the loft at home. He kept pulling the cushion from my old papasan chair off of the frame, so I went with it. Now he has a plush set up in the mornings when we get ready for work and in the evenings right before bed.
