Bounce Zone!!!!

I took Evan to Bounce Zone today. It was $3.00 for 90 minutes because he's under the age of 2 (What a deal!). We lasted about 50 minutes before we were tired and ready to go home. Evan was more interested in the basketball and football at first, but by the end he was going down the slide all by himself. :-)

Playing in the Snow

We went outside to play in the snow, but it was pretty windy and cold. Mike bought Evan the "Yeti Racer" (for ages 6 and up!) at Christmas. Evan wanted nothing to do with it when we were outside because it was kinda slick and wobbly (think National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation). He liked it when we came back in though - it was like having a new chair to sit on.

SNOW DAYS!

Mike and I both had snow days yesterday and today, so it was fun, fun, fun at our house! Our area got anywhere from 9-13 inches of snow. Evan sat in the recliner and watched Mike shovel outside on Wednesday morning.

Peek-a-Boo and Signing

Evan still loves peek-a-boo. We say a few words, but signing is working for him right now. Here's a video of both! :-)

Our First Public Tantrum

While getting our food served at McAllister's the other day, Evan grabbed what he could reach of his plate and threw it on the floor along with a growly-yell. We gave him a chance to stop, but he did not. Mike said, "We will not be doing this in public young man," and we got to-go containers and went home. The ugliness continued a little later when he threw food again. Mike gave him a talking-to and the pouty lip came out and tears filled his eyes (I had to look away because it was a teensy bit funny). The food throwing subsided once he realized he disappointed his Dad. Something tells me this may not be our only premature departure from public places; he's kinda stubborn. These pictures are in-between the ugliness.

Evan does dishes.

Evan "did" dishes with me. I didn't work smarter instead of harder though. Mike gave him spoons the other day while they did the dishes; I gave him cups. Needless to say Evan had to change clothes after the dishes were done.

Evan does floors.

He even does it with his eyes closed. ;-)

Evan loves sweeping. He helps us at home and Miss Melba at her house. You've gotta love a man that knows how to clean his house.

Look at what else I can climb!

Oy.

Evan-size Countertop

Evan likes setting stuff up on his toolbench. Here is this morning's breakfast along with his singing bunny (with chicks and a frog). He started setting stuff up on Miss Melba's kitchen chairs too; he fixes his problems pretty quickly if he doesn't like the adult solution (the high chair).
I forgot to mention- we're "big" now and high chairs are too little for us. We had to switch him to a regular booster seat at home; at Miss Melba's he insists on sitting on his knees to eat at the table. Stubborn little sucker - I think he gets it from his dad...or his mom...or his Papa...or his Grandma Peggy...or his Grandma Mary....

Still Learning

Evan is still learning the art of using utensils. He's pretty good at stabbing stuff with his fork, but the spoon has a bit of ways to go. I gave him some yogurt today (on our Snow Day - it's really a too cold to go to school day, but I'll take it) so I could do the dishes without any help. :-)

Settling in with Dad

Evan is Mike's shadow - big time. There's no better person in the world but Dad (Papa and Miss Melba may come a close second). Evan likes to sit on Mike for a few minutes before bedtime so he can get his fill of his Dad. Here they are the other night.

Messes

Here are the puffies Evan agreed to eating the other day when I asked him if he wanted them. He wanted to check out the snow a bit more. He's really good about picking up toys together, but he wasn't so in to picking up puffies.

Watchin' Dad Shovel

It actually snowed and stayed the other day. Evan likes watching Mike shovel the walk, so I opened up the front window blinds. Here are two pictures- one is from February last year and one is from Wednesday. Look at how much taller Evan is in the window. I don't see it until I look at pictures like this because I see him every day.

Whew.

Evan cried when Mike dropped him off at the sitter's this morning. He was clingy with Miss Melba all day. He had a few tantrums tonight which included throwing a measuring cup at me (which gave me a knot on my forehead). He rocked time-out a couple of times. He's still working on those last 2 canine-type teeth on his left side. The poor kid didn't feel well today. Did I meniton he pooped in the tub? 7:00 couldn't come soon enough for me tonight and I picked him up at 4:00. This picture of Evan is from a couple of weeks ago. He was watching his latest favorite, Alvin and the Chipmunks (the movie).

Is Evan ready for middle school?

Here's video of Evan running the halls of middle school already; they grow up so fast! ;-)

Or is he ready for college?

Evan has a 'college' sweatshirt, knowledge of how to use the computer, and enjoys eating cheesies on the couch. It looks like he's on his way to the fraternity house pretty soon.

Messes Get Lighter

It was back to work for Mike and me today after our Winter Break. I welcomed the day because I like my job more than I like wiping up Evan's messes (which there are plenty of). Here are a couple of pictures of "Evan marinara" from the other day.

Change of Heart

We love Brownie now. It only took a week for him to warm up to it! (Maybe we'll try a carousel again.)
