Evan was gnawing on his fingers one day because his 2 year molars are trying to come in. He shoved his fingers back too far and gagged himself. He decided it would be fun to replicate the sound (much like when he would grind his teeth or give us a high-pitched shriek) without actually gagging himself. Mike and I would tell him not to do it, but then he would do it more. I finally decided to ask him to stop and then ignore it. It went away for me, but not for Mike (Mike HATES that sound, and Evan knows it). We were at the food court at the mall the other night and Evan started his sound. Mike and I were talking and Evan says, "Dad!" Mike and I continued our conversation and then Evan said, "Dad!" again. Mike said, "Yes, Evan?" That's when Evan decided to give him his choking sound. It was hilarious. I've uploaded a short video of Evan yelling for his dad (who was upstairs) and making the sound to get his attention.
