Aw, Dang.
Well friends, our less-than-two-year-old hard drive took a poo and we were left with no memory on the computer. That means no music and no pictures. We have a new hard drive in, so I have a few pictures. Luckily, I have been blogging Evan's life since he was 4 months old. Any picture I've uploaded, I can get back (it'll just take me forever to do). We've also had a lot of pictures uploaded to places like Walgreens and Costco because we've printed. So, all is not lost (just quite a bit). Here are Evan's official 3 Year Pictures. My BFF, Alea, an amateur photographer, took them in Fort Wayne today. The pictures are really cute, and Evan is a moving target. She says, "He's my most challenging so far." Tell me about it- Whenever I get a picture of Evan 1) looking at the camera and 2) smiling at the camera, I jump for joy.

National Ice Cream Day
A friend of mine on Facebook reminded me about National Ice Cream Day - I remember seeing something about it earlier this month and then forgetting to remember. Well, we were reminded in time, and so we celebrated with what we had at home (luckily - sometimes we don't have ice cream). During his presidency, Ronald Reagan declared the 3rd Sunday in July National Ice Cream Day. Where have I been that I just learned about this 24 years later? Next year will be plush because I ♥ ice cream....I may even get to Meijer where they sell BLUE BELL ice cream now! Here are our pics from this year. Evan loves eating from a cone - he hasn't quite figured out that he can eat the cone though - he usually just puts it down and declares he's finished once he gets to it.

Best Buddies
Evan and Alex (our friends' little girl) are 16 days apart. They met when Alex was 22 days old and Evan was 6 days old. They've been buddies ever since. The top picture is my favorite. We went to a dud of a hot air balloon show this month and the kids found a way to make it fun - with a blanket. They are the sweetest things when they're together - they hardly ever fight (they only tattle on each other) - and they LOVE getting together to play. :-)

Swim Lessons
Evan started swim lessons on Tuesday. Tuesday went great! Wednesday wasn't as great, but he did go to the deep end with his teacher, Miss Blake. Evan's friend, Jake (my friend's little guy), takes lessons most of the same days too. Jake's mom and I noticed the boys do better when they have each other. Positive peer pressure is awesome. :-)

Conner Prairie - Part II
We went to Conner Prairie with my brother-in-law and my nieces on Friday. That's twice in ten days for Evan and me! It was, again, a ton of fun! (The last picture is of me wrinkling my nose at Evan because he NEVER looks at the camera and smiles long enough for anyone to get a shot.)

Evan + Zoo = Unimpressed
I took Evan to the Fort Wayne Zoo on Thursday morning. It was early and cool when we went (Notice the pants on July 1!). He was mostly unimpressed. The pictures I have of him with animals or creatures only occurred when he was half impressed and looked at them for 10 seconds or so. He rode the train - which was the best $4. I spent all day. We also went to Coney Island at 10:45 in the morning (because the zoo only took us 90 minutes). He loved that because I let him sit at the counter - which he thinks is the coolest thing ever. :-)

Evan's 3 Year Check-Up
Evan and I went to his 3 year doctor's appointment today. He's doing beautifully. His back is straight and strong, he has reached all of his developmental milestones (including potty training, which the doctor was impressed with), and he weighs 36.2 pounds and is 39 inches tall. Both are in the 75th-90th percentile for boys his age.
Here are some pictures of Evan helping me "shuck" corn the other day. He's a true Indiana boy - he never turns down corn!
