Baking Cakes

Evan and I baked cakes last weekend for some friends.  Evan got to bake and decorate his own cake to keep.  Here are Evan and Daddy with the cake Evan solely decorated.  The picture of Evan and the batter is from today.  Evan has decided his Auntie is getting a special birthday cake tomorrow.  He helped me design it - I'll take pictures of it tomorrow - Ti still doesn't know what kind of cake it'll be.  (It's a par-rise [surprise].)

Couch Cushions

Evan's buddy, Jake, came over a few weeks ago and the boys played "Couch Cushions."  Here is Evan after building his bridge the other day.

Evan figured out his blocks could be even higher if he stood on a chair and built his tower on the kitchen table.  He's very proud of himself in these pictures.

Let's Play Trains!

The night Evan got home from Grandma's, we played trains until bed time.  It was so funny to hear Evan say, "All Aboard!  I'm the caboose!  Daddy's the engine!"

The Fair Train and Slip 'n Slide

I went back to school yesterday, and Mike needed to go do some work in his classroom.  Since Evan's daycare doesn't start until next week, Grandma Mary and Aunt Judy graciously took Evan for the day....and, boy did he have a great day!  They rode the train from Fishers down to the State Fair.  It was a little hot to go to the fair, so they stayed on the train and rode it back home.  They said Evan had a blast.  He got to go to McDonald's and get a Happy Meal, then he went and played with all of the awesome "toyses" at their houses.  He took a snuggle nap with Grandma, and after nap, he got to play on the Slip 'n Slide in the back yard.  He was a hoot when we got home; we had to keep playing Trains.

Buddies

We met up with Alex and her parents today to go to Bouncertown.  Well, Bouncertown closed 3 days ago.  Poor Evan cried (with tears) because he was so excited to bounce.  We ended up finding another place to bounce, but Mr. Evan only wanted to do the bouncers with Daddy.  And (like the last 3 times I've taken him to these establishments) only when we were leaving did he want to do anything alone.  Alex was a champ - that girl was all over the place on the bouncers.  She even looked at her mom and said, "This is how it's done."  I ♥ it!  I don't have the pics from today uploaded yet (and they're not that good anyway - every time I hit the button, it was too early or too late), but here are pics of Alex and Evan playing in water last week when Alex came over for a little while.  :-)

"Train Trackses" and the Weinermobile

Every day we went to Miss Blake's for swim lessons, we crossed a set of train tracks, and Evan would inform me that they were coming.  These are the only consistently active train tracks in our area since the ones in Fishers only work during the State Fair.  We finally got stopped by a train last week. I used to sigh when I got stopped by a train at any time because it put me behind, but now I think about the face you see in this post and the pure joy on Evan's face.  Time doesn't seem to matter so much when I picture him and his reaction to the trains. 

We went to see some friends last Friday, and on our way there we passed the Oscar Meyer Weinermobile going the opposite direction.  On our way home, it was parked at a Kroger.  We stopped and had some pictures taken.  These are the ones from my camera.  Much to Evan's disappointment, we weren't allowed to climb inside and explore, but we did get a sweet weiner whistle.  :-)
