 Here's Evan and his girlfriend, Ellie.  They've both told their mothers that they are going to marry the other one.  Hilarious.

 I once told Evan that Andria and I used to love covering up in Grandma Peggy's fuzzy robes.  That was enough of an excuse for him to do it too.  :)

 This is an ice cream shop/restaurant about an hour from home.  It's pretty good ice cream - one of the places that had tons of choices back when nobody had choices.  Their ice cream menu has over 100 choices.  It's still pretty amazing.

 We went to dinner at some friends' house.  The kids inhaled their corn on the cob and bread & butter.

 Evan got a Matt Forte (Chicago Bear) jersey for his birthday!  (I think the only item of clothing he would approve of as a gift.)

 The "ball pit" (i.e. waterless swimming pool with balls in my front room) has returned!

Touch a Truck

We went to the Marion County Touch-a-Truck event a couple of weeks ago.  It was awesome.  Good friends of ours invited us to join them.  Everyone had fun.  :)

Guess who likes playing iPad?

So 13 month Reid loves electronics.  This makes him no different from any other toddler.  He wants the remotes, the phones, the keys, the computers & the iPad.  Fisher Price has an app for people just like him.  He can play shapes & a little keyboard and he loves it.  He has a pretty good fake cry going when his time is up.  He even points his finger and can swipe.  Mike calls the kids of this generation digital natives.  It's really amazing that things with buttons are more weird to them than with touch screens.

Reid is our climber.

So sweet, little baby Reid is part monkey.  We find him climbing things quite often.  Just yesterday, Mike and I had a miscommunication about who had him in the house.  I was upstairs getting Evan started on his bath and Mike put Reid in the family room while he did something outside.  Evan and I left the gate at the bottom of the gate open, and while Evan's in the tub, I hear Reid a lot closer than downstairs.  I found him at the gate at the top of the steps, jabbering away, waiting to get in.  He is pretty smart in that he understands he will fall if he doesn't climb down from something, but 12 or so steps is a little much. 

Superhero Birthday

Evan's birthday celebration lasted for about a week this year.  We capped off the festivities with a party on Saturday morning.  12 of his friends (and their parents...thank goodness) came and we had a very Pinterest inspired party.  The kids decorated their own cupcakes, made their own pizza bagels, painted their own Green Lanterns (made out of empty baby food jars and glow in the dark paint), colored their own Captain America shields (made from paper plates), blew homemade bubbles and painted on the sidewalk.  Evan had a great time!  (We also had my oldest niece here to watch Reid...who slept through the entire party.  God bless that boy...there were 30+ people here.)

Monster Donut Birthday!

So we live less than 1 mile away from a fantastic little donut shop.  Evan affectionately calls it "the donut store."  This spring Evan and I would move a little quicker on Friday mornings and slip in and get a donut for the road since it is a 15 minute drive to his school.  Every Friday there would be a monster donut in the case.  They only make them on Fridays, but they do take orders for the monster donut on other days.  I promised Evan since about February that we would get a monster donut just for him on his birthday.  Here it is.  Papa even joined in!  :)
