The New Addition!

Reid Michael Connors arrived at 11:07 a.m.  He is 8 lbs & 20 inches long.  Mama is doing well and was very excited to meet her sweet lil man.

My mom thinks this one is a "little genius."

Here is Mimi's little genius with a trash can on his head.  He thought it was the funniest thing this afternoon.  And, of course, instead of being a good mom and stopping him, I snapped pictures because he's a goof.

A break in the rain...to mow.

We have had a very wet April.  I think the weather people said it was only 1/2 inch from a record set in the 1800's.  Something like 8 inches of rain has fallen.  Mike's baseball game got rained out (well, the field did - it didn't actually rain that afternoon), so he was able to zip home and get a quick mow in.  Evan helped him.  3 days later Mike still mowed twice.  On the plus side, everything is pretty and green now.  :)

Easter Pics

We had a quiet little Easter last week.  On Saturday, my mom and sister colored eggs with Evan.  (This is not my favorite activity, so I was very grateful I had some help.)  On Sunday, Mike went to church, and Evan & I stayed home.  I'm pretty far along with this pregnancy, so hard, wooden pews and I don't mix these days.  Evan was a little spooked with the idea of a rabbit barging in the house and leaving stuff.  He was cool with the eggs & prizes, but uncool with the stranger in his house part.  For a day or two he kept asking us to come with him from room to room to keep him safe.  We explained to him (several times) that we locked the door back up and watched him (the Easter Bunny) leave to go to his own house.  It took a few times, but eventually Evan was OK with it.

Dad had a birthday.

For Mike's birthday, Evan decided that he needed a firetruck cake.  We baked it, but Dad's favorite flavor is German Chocolate with Coconut/Pecan icing.  It doesn't really resemble a firetruck, but Evan was very proud of what we baked and decorated for him.  Evan also got him an ESPN baseball t-shirt.  Mike's birthday was a success!  :)

Shaving Cream Art

Evan played with shaving cream while I made dinner the other day.  It sure did smell spicy in our kitchen afterward.  He had a ton of fun though - not bad for $1 can of shaving cream....

Bossy

We've told Evan he has two years to be bossy with the baby.  We figure by the age of 2 the baby will catch on that Evan's been scamming him....

Evan likes to be in charge and tell people what to do.  Last week we were at a restaurant and there was a little girl hanging out near our table.  When we walked up to our table to sit down, he said, "Hey little girl, why don't you go find your mom."  Oh Lord.

The picture I've posted is of Evan's trains.  If you notice the small 3 car train in the front of the picture, you'll see my train.  Every time we play, that's the train I get stuck with.  If I grab another car, I get redirected back to my train.  (I don't play trains very often.)

Bossy, bossy, bossy....
