So we each picked up a couple of things for Evan on our own this year. I got Evan jammies and a book. Mike got him a light sabre (and a Hot Wheels track). It's cute to see Evan with it, I'm all for Star Wars, and Evan is actually insisting on taking it to bed with him, but if stuff starts breaking, it's all on Mike (as I told him in this video). :-)

Christmas
Evan was a good boy at Christmas. He was all about opening everyone's presents. He would stop at the box though. He opened up a gift from his grandma, and I said, "Evan, what did grandma get you?" He replied, "A box." Evan received 2 train sets, tons of Disney's Cars stuff, puzzles, jammies, a light sabre, a Cubs/Bears blanket, and on and on and on. The train sets were the big hit though. Mike built a train table and Evan played all day (including in between getting changed for bed). He even cried for his "Choo choo twain!" when he had to go to bed on Christmas night.

Future Competitive Eater?
Evan likes his food. I can't really get him to eat breakfast, but his sitter, Miss Melba, can. Here are a few pictures of Evan eating dinner tonight and being silly. It reminded me of the competitive eating competition Mike makes me watch on July 4 every year. Maybe Evan will be the next Joey Chestnut (current Coney Island hot dog record holder). As a parent, I can only dream....
Bye Bye Baby Crib
So Evan's crib is one of the recently recalled models. Conveniently, the company that manufactured it has gone out of business, so we have put it with the trash that will be collected on Saturday. Evan's been sleeping in the 3-sided bed for a while now, but we decided to clean up his room and move him to the big boy bed frame we've had since this fall. No problems at all. He just has a TON of stuff in his bed with him at night - such a packrat - just like my grandpa was. Here are some pictures of Evan and Mike taking down his crib and then Evan's bed with all of his crap in it. :-)
