Motor Speedway

We took a field trip to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway yesterday.  Reid slept through most of it.  Evan did alright as well.  The highlight was clearly the drive on the bus around the track.  Evan loved it!

Evan snapped this pic - not bad Ev!
The view from the bus on the track - very cool.

Brothers - Comparison

My friend, Alea, has requested comparison photos of Evan and Reid. Evan will be first and Reid will be second...this is a long one. You're welcome, Alea. :)

1 Month Old

Reid was one month old on Monday.  We went to the doctor and he is 10 lbs and 22-1/2 inches long.  The doctor said I have a tall and skinny baby since his weight is average and his length is above average.  He's gained 2 pounds and 2-1/2 inches since he was born.

Reid is still a good sleeper, but he's a crab when he's hungry or tired.  We're getting used to the crying - it doesn't last long, but he is much more vocal than Evan was.  (Evan was a pretty calm baby, but he didn't sleep much.)

Reid can roll over from his belly to his back (he did that at 1 week old - crazy!).  He follows voices, watches faces, likes Evan's bright, colorful cartoons, and loves Evan.

Evan is a great brother.  He cried today when I didn't let him help change Reid's dirty diaper. He explains stuff to Reid that he may need to know in a couple of years (like how toys work or what TV shows are good).  He even assigned Reid the role of playing Ferb when we were playing Phineas and Ferb the other day.  (It was a pretty good role assignment since Ferb doesn't say much.)

At least my kids can wear red well.

Look at these gorgeous boys and how well they wear red.  I'm so jealous!  :-)

Mimi and Papa

My parents SPOIL Evan.  It's pretty funny.  They bought Evan a 4 wheeler for their house when Reid was born.  They have all kinds of sweet stuff actually - they see it, and they buy it.  And of course Evan loves going to their house because he can play with it.  Evan told me, "You can go now Mom," last night when we were at their house.  I had to explain to him that we were all going to spend the night - not just him.  He wasn't too happy about sharing his time with his grandparents.  He's a Mimi's boy right now though.  She taught pre-school for 20+ years, and you can tell.  Evan is my mom's shadow when they're together.  We tease my dad now - we tell him 3 and a half years is a good run for a best pal....  ;-)

A Day with the Family

Reid and my grandma hadn't met yet, so we decided to head up to Fort Wayne on Friday morning.  My cousin, Sammy, had her second son 6 days after Reid was born.  She came out to grandma's house and we got to meet each other's babies.  I got to see 2 of my aunts too!  It was a great morning.  :)
