Baby Chain

We made a baby chain at the end of March.  It is a countdown of how many days are left until our baby comes.  Evan has been good about taking off one paper each day...it's getting shorter and shorter!  Yay!

Spoiled

So being as pregnant as I am and as miserable as I am (I actually looked at the What to Expect When You're Expecting book today and was able to say yes to almost every 8th month "symptom"), Evan has been a great boy.  Mike had baseball today, so it was just the two of us.  We watched A LOT of TV (mother of the year right here) and played computer and board games.  Because I didn't want to cook, I took him to KFC because I knew they had macaroni and cheese.  We also ran to Target for a couple of things.  I broke down and sprung for the Buzz Lightyear blaster.  He's been eyeing it since last summer, and he's been such a champ with me lately.  ("Mom, once the baby comes, you'll feel much better."  "Mom, once the baby is here, you can run and jump and play with me again."  "Mom, what's wrong?  Do you need me?"  "Mom, here, let me help you up from the chair.")  He's a sweetheart in the making. 

Here are some pictures of Evan in our laundry-ridden (but it is clean at least), toy-covered family room. (Can you tell I have no energy?)  Notice the ice cream in the middle of the room as well - I spoiled him today.

P.S. - I've actually been training him for his future wife.  I'll say, "Evan, what do the ladies like?"  and he'll reply, "Ladies like bracelets."  Good boy.  Jewelry always fits.  :)

Crib Assembly

Mike and Evan made it thier project to put the baby's crib together last night.  (I helped too - I held stuff upright.)  Mike and I were pretty impressed with Evan's one-handed use of the Alan (sp?) wrench. 

Can we paint?

We took Evan to an older sibling class a few weeks ago since our baby's coming soon.  As soon as we got there, he wanted to paint.  To him, school or class means you get to paint.  Any time he's gone with Mike or me to work, he's gotten to do some sweet drawing on chalkboards or whiteboards.  Mike made Evan a promise that they'd paint together this week.  Here they are in their paint clothes, and Evan went to town.  He used all of Mike's leftover cornhole board paints.  You'll see Butler blue, Hoosier crimson, and Notre Dame gold in the pictures.  :)

Daddy's Dawgs...

...have made it to the NCAA Final Four for the second year in a row!  Michael has been waiting for and looking for a "Back to Back" Final Four t-shirt since Saturday when Butler won their game.  Evan and I ran down to campus today (thank goodness for spring break) to pick up a shirt for him.  After several picture text messages and two (long) walks to the top of the arena and back down again, we left the Historic Hinkle Fieldhouse store with the perfect t-shirt for Daddy.  Here are a couple of pictures of Evan near the top of the arena.

The Armadillo from Amarillo

My dear cousin, Mindy, has two sweet little girls in Kindergarten.  One of their projects was to send an armadillo across the country to see the sites of a different part of the United States.  Madison sent her armadillo to me, so here's where we went:

 *to the Indianapolis Museum of Art - their outdoor sculptures

 *to Historic Hinkle Fieldhouse - Home of the 2010 NCAA Men's Basketball Runners-up

 *to the 106th Street Cafe - we could've skipped this one - it was smoky inside.  Yuck!

We bought a new cake mold (a 3D train) last week, so Evan helped with "clean up."

Evan was "doing work" with me the other day.  He likes to keep me company while I grade.

We ran to the Indianapolis Art Museum on Saturday; I couldn't resist taking a picture with the sculpture with his age.
