Back to Conner Prairie

We took advantage of Smithsonian's Museum Day yesterday.  Any Smithsonian museum was offering free admission for you and a guest.  We went to Conner Prairie for a little over an hour to let Evan run, run, run.  It was a little too windy for us to go up in the big helium balloon, and Evan still seemed a little skiddish as well.

Buzz Cut!

I am a short hair junkie.  If Mike would have had longer hair when I met him, I honestly wouldn't have given him a second glance.  I've been trimming Evan's hair on the sides and leaving the top longer.  We were getting to the point where he was going to have to use gel if he was going to keep the length.  When I asked him if he wanted to use the gel that Daddy uses, he said, "No."  Buzz cut here we came.  Evan looks tired in this picture - but his hair looks so cute!

Ketchup's Where It's At

On the night Mike and I got engaged, we went to St. Elmo's Steakhouse downtown.  While we were eating, Mike said to me, "Steak and baked potato's where it's at."  Six quick years later, Evan has decided that ketchup is really where it's at.  Here is Evan being normal and dipping his tots in ketchup.  Moments before though, he was dipping his watermelon in ketchup.  God bless ketchup.  It makes my child eat most foods.

Training Wheels

We finally got some training wheels for Evan's bike.  Friends of ours gave us his bike, and he's been dying to ride it.  Here are some pics of Evan tooling around the kitchen.

Back in the Saddle Again

Sorry about the lapse in posts, friends.  Evan and I have been under the weather with  a sinus infection and allergies (me) and fevers, and a little puke, allergies, and rashes (Evan).  Thanks to a couple of doctor visits, a couple of prescriptions, a couple of days at home and a few at Grandma Mary's, we're as good as can be now (until it decides to frost or rain even so the ragweed can go away).  I don't have any pictures on my camera since I haven't felt like taking them or Evan isn't camera ready with a rash or a runny nose.  Maybe I'll take some tomorrow...if I remember.  These 4 hour evenings from when I pick him up to when he goes to bed go by so quickly....Here are some pictures from a few weeks ago when Evan was getting a shoulder ride from Daddy.  Evan's hand placement was hysterical.  :-)

Ti's Birthday

Andria's (Auntie = Ti) birthday was last week.  It was fun, fun, fun.  We went to Mongolian BBQ, went to the playground, and then we ate chocolate (or as Evan says, "Chalk-lick") cake with chocolate icing and chocolate ice cream.  Evan even decorated her cake all by himself (see post below).  He was all about her volcano cake.
