A Good Husband Some Day

Evan will wow a girl's socks off some day if he continues today's trend.  This morning he said, "Mom.  I NEED to clean," so I gave him the Dust Buster to sweep up grass out of our shoe basket (which he did thoroughly).  Then, after his nap, he made his own snack.  He was meticulous at this also.

Food Project

Evan and I do "food projects" every once in a while.  Our friend Alex came over tonight for a little while, so we did chocolate pretzels.  Both of the kids were serious and quiet when they were working - it didn't hurt that I told them they could lick their fingers (Evan licked his spoon).  While the project was drying, we went outside and washed up in the water table (notice their chocolate mustaches).  Evan and Alex then played "Water the Deck" which is one of Evan's favorite activities when we're out back.  We had a lot of fun!  :-)

Hot Air Balloon Show

Evan and I went to the Indy Air Show on Friday night.  It was about 10-15 minutes from our house, and they were having a hot air baloon "glow" show.  (They weren't planning on flying any, just inflating them.)  Well, the weather came and we only got to see 2 balloons get inflated.  We came when the website said something would be going on, but we ended up waiting for 45 minutes to see some action.

Downtown Adventure

Evan, Ti, and I went downtown this morning to go to the Christ Church Cathedral's Strawberry Festival on The Circle.  Ever since I moved down here (8 years ago next month - wow), I would see it on the news and be bummed that I missed it.  Not this year!  We parked at IUPUI, took our time, and walked through White River State Park, a parking garage, the Marriott, the Convention Center, Circle Centre Mall, and the Arts Garden before we ended up about a block away from The Circle.  (We took our long detour inside so we wouldn't be in the sun too much at once - we burn).  Here is the photo shoot I took - it doesn't even look like I'm there (the one picture of me was not that great).

Evan's Car Wash

Evan loves the garden hose.  In fact, he washed my car last week (no pictures, I couldn't leave him alone to go get the camera - he's a "darter" at times).  Yesterday, he washed Mike's truck for him.  It was so cute.  He takes the work seriously.  (He even helped Daddy spray some of the leftover mulch off of the cement.)

SUMMER!

Mike and I just finished our school years yesterday - it's summer! Whoo-hoo! Sorry we've been gone for a couple of weeks - our computer had a virus. We're back up and running now, so I've posted some pictures of what Evan's been doing lately.

Evan likes wearing his baseball helmet and riding on his "motorcycle."

Evan's eating corn.  He love's it.More corn.

Watch out - here comes Evan!

Evan was playing "Supervisor" when Daddy was spreading mulch the other day.

We've been playing on the deck in the kiddie pool.  Here's Evan and his cousins that are already 3.  He had a blast the other day with them.

This is Evan playing "Superhero" with a hooded towel and a pool fun noodle - too funny!
