Cookie Dunking and Donald Duck

Evan has learned to dunk cookies. I don't think Mike and I have done it recently, so it had to have been at the sitter's house. I gave Evan a small Killian's Beer glass for his milk not expecting him to dunk cookies. All of the sudden we had a cookie that needed fished out with a spoon. It was messy but funny to watch him be a kid. :-)

Evan's latest infatuation is Donald Duck. It took us a while to figure out that's what he liked the best about The Mickey Mouse Clubhouse since he only said, "Minnie" last summer (which is why he had a Mickey Mouse birthday cake). Evan likes it when we get on YouTube and pull up Donald Duck movies from the 40's and 50's. I even found a Donald Duck cake pan on Ebay for his birthday in June.

We have big plans for Spring Break - since Evan has taken to smearing poo from his diaper, we've decided maybe potty training would be good. We just can't make a great big impact on a Saturday and Sunday since Mike and I work full time. I'm also thinking about taking Evan up to a dairy farm and not the lame, organic one I went to with him last fall. This one is hard-core on acres and acres of land up in Northwest Indiana. We're also signing Evan up for his 2nd year of summer swim lessons during Spring Break as well. I keep looking for events for toddlers that don't occur between the hours of 9-3, but I haven't found any yet. It seems every time I find something fun, the hours are 10 in the morning. :-(

Snow Days Galore

*Evan saw the fun noodles for the pool in the garage on Sunday. We've had a few family sword fights with them, which Evan thinks is the best.

*Evan put on Grandma Peggy's (my grandma) house shoes and was walking around with them on when we went to Fort Wayne on Saturday.

*Here is a grumpy Evan under 3 blankets (2 pictured) after getting up from a nap last week. We leave him alone for a while when he just gets up (he's just like his mama - I'm so proud).

In the past 6 school days, I have had 4 snow days (including today, which was a make-up snow day from last week, now it's a "2-for" - meaning they'll tack on days at the end of the school year - which doesn't bother me because when you're looking at 9 weeks off, what's 3 more days really?). We've been hanging out around the house doing nothing. I enjoy it. We did run up to Fort Wayne on Saturday and have a good time. There's just not too much going on here since it's snowy out and a little too cold to go do stuff. We're in the "hibernation" part of winter right now. I've been really cold this winter for some reason, but I still like wearing sweatshirts non-stop, so I won't complain. :)

Nothing exciting has happened this week. We went to a Superbowl party on Sunday night and Evan didn't get into a toy fight. I've had 2 snow days this week (yesterday and today), so we're just kind of chillin' around the house.

Honesty - Part 2

Well, it seems for some reason the video won't play. Here is a transcript:

Mike: Evan, did you get in trouble at Miss Melba's today?
Evan: Yep.
Mike: Why did you get in trouble?
Evan: Paul.
Mike: Did you fight over toys with Paul? What happened?
Evan: I went to the corner.
Mike: Do you think you can be nice to Paul and not steal toys?
Evan: (Nods his head.)

Honesty

Evan has been a regular in "time-out" at the sitter's. Apparently our middle-of-the-night visit to the ER a few weeks ago and a concussion didn't teach him anything about taking toys from other kids. I forgot to ask Miss Melba how he was today, so we decided to ask Evan instead. This is a repeat of the conversation we had about 45 seconds before I turned on the camera. You've gotta love a two year old's honesty.

Pancakes

Evan and I made pancakes the other night for dinner. He was all over it. Mommy's little baker. :-)

Chips and Guac

Evan likes guacamole. What a weirdo....he's two. (I think I was thirty before I'd eat it.) ;-)
